N is for Nutella

What is Nutella?

Is this available all over the world?
I don't think it is in my local Public grocery store.

It is not peanut butter but has a similar consistency.

It is very popular throughout Italy.

I was offered this in a cornetto (croissant) one morning, to enjoy with my cappuccino.

I would rather have had the Italian cream filling that I can not wait to return to Italy for.

Nutella:   Even the name is confusing.
So I went to Wikipedia to find out about this strange spread:
"Nutella is a brand name of a hazelnut chocolate spread.  It is manufactured by the Italian company Ferrero and introduced to the market in 1963.   The original recipe was developed from an Ferrero spread released in 1944!"

But is it really a chocolate spread?
It is suppose to taste like chocolate but why does it taste so bad?

Who puts Nutella on Pizza????

  3. Don't like nutella?? Shocked, lol. It's totally delish and one of my earliest memories of Italy. We get it in the UK these days but due to food standards it's not quite as nice, something to do with Italy allowing certain ingredients not needing to be pasturised which is not allowed in the UK. BTW, it's chocolate and hazlenut mixed together, maybe why you both aren't so enamoured of it as I am :)

  4. Nutella is available in Canada . I used to love eating a 'brioche' in Algiers. Do they have those in Italy? basically it's a bread bun with chocolate in the center .

  5. I enjoy brioche also, here in Atlanta ga we can only find them in specialty bakeries....one does a brioche loaf of bread: use it for french toast and it is wonderful...
the main breakfast pastry is a croissant and they come with a great cream filling or this chocolate hazel nut combination.....maybe it is an acquired taste
